We reviewed Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers around the time of its launch. And though it had its small share of problems, we found the game to be an ambitious, fun effort, especially with the focus on the underappreciated Ms. Marvel. But some fans weren’t as excited, thrown off by the game’s cosmetic microtransactions and “grindy” approach to making progress.
But the developers at Crystal Dynamics have continuously been working on improving the overall experience with updates. And this February, it’ll be showing off its biggest one yet, bringing the game to Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 with massive improvements and introducing a key character to the team.
In a tweet posted yesterday, the official Avengers Twitter account confirmed a new War Table video that’s set to go live on February 16th. During this time, fans will get a look at Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, in the game, with a new Operation aptly named Future Imperfect. And based on the image above, it appears he’ll have a very different kind of Hulk to face off against, along with some robotic new dangers.
But that’s not all. As we mentioned, the game will see some improvements on next-gen platforms, including 60 frames per second animation and other visual upgrades, making it the ultimate version to date. Some other features could be revealed as well.
A date for the expansion’s arrival hasn’t been given just yet, but it’s expected sometime in March, maybe even sooner. We’ll see what happens in the weeks ahead.
