A while back, Electronic Arts confirmed that Apex Legends, the company’s big hit Battle Royale game, would eventually make its way to Nintendo Switch. But in a new trailer today, the company may have hinted exactly when it would make its debut.
This morning, the publisher confirmed Season 8 would begin soon on other platforms, based on the trailer below. Titled Mayhem, it’s set to launch on February 8 and will debut a new legend – the nearly unstoppable Fuse.
The short below gives you a good idea of what this hero can do, and where his backstory lies. It also hints that the new season will mix things up nicely in the game’s Kings Canyon map, keeping players on their toes.
But here’s where things get interesting. Before the coding was removed, the Japanese YouTube trailer for the game noted that players would also be able to enjoy the game on Switch on the
2nd. They noted, “And on February 2nd, it will be possible to play on Switch at the same time as the start of Season 8!” (Thanks to Apex Legends News’ Twitter for the heads up!) EA hasn’t confirmed this as of yet, and may have been saving the announcement for a special occasion – like, say, with the new Nintendo Direct that’s been hinted at over the past couple of weeks. Whatever the case, players may have something new to enjoy outside of Fortnite in just a few days or so. We’ll let you know when the game officially arrives for that platform.
In the meantime, prepare for Season 8 and enjoy Apex Legends now on Xbox One/Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4/PlayStation 5, and PC.
