This week marks the arrival of the Consumer Electronics Show – well, the digital version, anyway, thanks to COVID-19. And while it doesn’t have the biggest line-up of game news out there, a few announcements are leaking through. This includes details for some upcoming titles for the PlayStation 5.
Sony hosted a special event yesterday, with PS5 opening the event. Now, there wasn’t any tremendous breaking news to report, like the due date for God of War: Ragnarok or anything like that. However, we do have a better idea of when some certain games will come our way.
Let’s take a look at the highlights!
First-party Games For 2021
While we’re unsure when Gran Turismo 7 and Ragnarok will arrive, Sony did confirm that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and Horizon: Forbidden West are coming this year. In fact, don’t be surprised if both games pop up in the first half of the year, clearing the way for a stellar line- up to come for the holiday season. Returnal will also make its way to the PS5 on March 19, so players won’t have to be without that particular title for long.
Capcom’s Pragmata Is Coming – But Not Anytime Soon
There was also more information revolving around the mysterious new project from Capcom, Pragmata. This interesting title received a trailer a few months back, leaving us intrigued as what’s in store. However, we’ll have to wait a bit to see it come to fruition, as it’s not expected until sometime in 2023. Hopefully, sooner rather than later, we’ll see another trailer that fills us in on what this game is all about.
Ghostwire Tokyo For Halloween, Along With A Stray
Even though they were acquired by Microsoft, Bethesda has a release period for Ghostwire Tokyo on the PlayStation 5. The game is set to make its debut this October, complete with all of its spooky action intact.
And that’s not all. Annapurna Interactive’s provocative “cat simulator”, Stray, will also debut in the same month, taking place in a neat little city.
And The Rest…
As far as what the rest of the schedule looks like for the remainder of the year, take a look.
Keep in mind that this is not a complete list, and the PS5 will see several titles to go along with these…
- Hitman 3 (January 20)
- Kena: Bridge of Spirits (March 2021)
- Solar Ash (June 2021)
- Little Devil Inside (July 2021)
- Project Athia (January 2022)
