Today marks the first day of the Consumer Electronics Show 2021, and although there’s not much of an in-person show to attend, there’s a lot of virtual stuff being showcased this week.
And one of the big things that debuted is the line-up of upcoming Arcade1up arcade machines due this year. Tell you what, you guys are in for some nostalgic treats. A number of popular games will debut this year, along with some returning favorites in legacy form.
Let’s take a look and see what Arcade1up has in store!
X-Men (four player edition)
First up, a new Marvel machine will debut from Arcade1up, featuring none other than Konami’s classic four-player brawler Marvel’s X-Men. Choose from six characters and take on Magneto and his army as you attempt to rescue Professor X!
And that’s not all. Two other Marvel classics from Data East will be included. Captain America and the Avengers will make the trip for the first time, along with the rare fighting sequel The Avengers In Galactic Storm.
Next up is a partnership with Rare Ltd. that will see two of its craziest fighting games take arcade form once again! Killer Instinct returns with its full cast and pseudo-3D visuals. In addition, Killer Instinct 2 is also included, in all its arcade glory.
But that’s not all. There’s some Battletoads love in this arcade unit, including the Battletoads Arcade game and the classic Battletoads/Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team!
Three laser disc classics are coming home, thanks to a new deal between Digital Leisure and Arcade1up! Dragon’s Lair will see an arcade-to-home release, much larger than the New Wave Toys unit we recently covered. It’ll have a digital scoreboard, coin slots and a dedicated riser. In addition, it will also come with two other arcade favorites – Space Ace and Dragon’s Lair II: Timewarp!
