We saw hints indicating that Treyarch would somehow reintroduce its infamous Nuketown map to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War any day now. And this week, it finally happened. But not in the traditional way that you expect.
In a new blog post, the developer introduced the Nuketown ’84 map, which is now available for all players of Cold War, on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC. The 6v6 map should now be available in rotation; and as you can see, it has a great 80s motif to it, so it’ll feel fresh yet familiar.
Set in a “nuclear testing ground modeled on an idyllic American neighborhood,” players will find the action fast and frenetic in this map, with a lot of opportunities to mow down their opponents from a few key locations.
As expected, two model homes sit on the ends of the map, providing lots of fighting ground for soldiers to cover, even in their rundown state. You can catch a glimpse of one of these homes in the included screenshots, but don’t let the décor fool you. It’s still prime ground for racking up some kills. You can check out the trailer for Nuketown ’84 below, and then get ready to jump into action today in Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War! Be sure to check back for our full review this weekend!
