Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans formerly the Vancouver Grizzlies will be the new cover athlete of NBA 2K21. Williamson grew up playing NBA 2K games and so did our Game Butler. He knows that Visual Concepts who makes the NBA 2K series for 2K Sports has a long history of making sports games in the video game space. They actually worked with EA Sports back in the day, and they tried to make the first version of Madden on the original PlayStation.
Well certain things developed, and the game wasn’t released giving 989 Studios NFL GameDay a window to get a leg up on Electronic Arts. While in recent years the role has been reversed and Visual Concepts has thunder dunked on EA Sports. And they have virtually put a stop to EA Sports NBA domination with NBA Live. That series has had a drought because Visual Concepts has piled on and created an awesome NBA simulation and they sewed up the NBA license. This year three athletes will be on the cover with Zion Williamson being the first mention.
Another one we are hearing will possibly be Kobe Bryant as the third cover athlete.
Williamson will be the cover athlete for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game. Current generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will feature Blazers star Damian Lillard. Williamson is the third player from the New Orleans Pelicans to grace an NBA 2K cover. Chris Paul was on the cover of 2K8 and Anthony Davis was on the cover of 2K16.
